Exercises and Workouts - 4 Smart Swaps To Boost Your Exercise Program's Effectiveness

Looking to boost your workout program's effectiveness? If so, you need to consider making a few key exercise swaps that will help you get more fit, burn more calories, and get stronger all at the same time.

These swaps are relatively simple to make and can be done in any current workout program. Simply take out the stated exercise and instead, do the other. You'll be seeing benefits in no time...

1. The Swap: Seated Shoulder Press For Standing.
The first swap you'll want to consider making is the seated shoulder press for the standing. Now, if you are going for maximum weight to gain as much strength as possible in the shoulders, seated is the route to go.

But, if you want to burn fat, strengthen your core, and improve your balance and agility, standing is the far better option.

As soon as you are standing, your core muscles are going to have to work that much harder to keep your body balanced, thus boosting your total calorie burn.

2. The Swap: Leg Extension For Lunge.

Next up on the list of swaps is the leg extension for the lunge. This one is a major swap because the leg extension works just the quad muscle while the lunge will hit the quads, hamstrings, and glutes... all at the same time.

More muscles worked means more fat burned... it's clear to see why this swap is advantageous.

3. The Swap: Front Crunch For Prone Ball Roll-In.

If you're still stuck doing regular front crunches time and time again, consider swapping front crunches out for a prone ball roll-in instead. This movement is going to hit the muscles deep in your core far harder, keeping your body balanced over the ball.

You'll also hit your shoulders slightly while doing it as well, providing even further advantages.

4. The Swap: Bicep Curl For Pull-Ups.
Finally, if you're regularly in the habit of doing bicep curls, you might want to swap this out for a pull-up instead. Pull-ups, while much more challenging, will hit your biceps, back, and core as well. All in all, it makes for a much better strength building movement.

If you can't do a regular pull-up on your own, have someone assist you... or try an assisted pull-up machine.

So keep these swaps in mind. Next time you're in the gym, make the change and you'll be seeing the results almost immediately.

Although managing Type 2 diabetes can be very challenging, it is not a condition you must just live with. Make simple changes to your daily routine - include exercise to help lower both your blood sugar levels and your weight.
